Shana’s blogger friend Ravayna (you may know her from www.loveravayna.com) contacted her to help design the nursery for her first baby. She and her husband were waiting to reveal the gender of their baby, and they also plan to expand their family in the future. As such, they wanted a gender-neutral nursery which could work for their baby now, and as a shared nursery in the future.
As an Instagram influencer, Ravayna needed a beautiful and versatile space which would function well as a nursery and also provide her myriad photo opportunities. Shana was cognizant of spreading light around the room through the strategic use of white, light and mirrors.
Shana recommended two of the walls to be papered in the gorgeous tropical wallpaper that Ravayna chose from www.spoonflower.com, and specified two mirrors to reflect some of the wallpaper pattern onto the all-white walls. Natural-toned matchstick shades allow for light control while warming up the color palette of the room, and bringing some of the wood floor color up to the walls.
Shana recommended campaign-style furniture to coordinate with the tropical vibe of this space, and chose the appropriate hardware pieces from www.dlawlesshardware.com to transform basic Ikea pieces into the beautiful, special pieces you see. This kept the room at a very reasonable budget!
