These clients had been living in their condo for about a year, but it was still decorated in the husband’s bachelor style. Shana was hired to bring the couple’s items and aesthetic together in a harmonious way, and to maximize the square footage of the condo because they were expecting a baby (see the Girly & Glam nursery)
The clients were concerned about losing their home office to the nursery, and also about finding an elegant solution for their extensive book collection. Shana suggested moving the dining room furniture into the very large, very wide living room to create a new open concept floor plan, and using the existing dining room as a library and home office. The finished project was the absolute perfect use of the space.
Shana also gave the existing dining room furniture a new lease on life, as both the table and the china cabinet held sentimental value for the couple. Both pieces were once honey oak 1960s furniture, which were refinished to a dark walnut and ebonized finish, respectively. Now, both pieces are showstoppers.
